Campsite Reviews

Journeys that start with a van and end with a story

Short journeys, long pauses and the kind of places you don’t plan for – but will always remember

This page is a growing record of the places we’ve travelled in our VW T25 — not a checklist, not a highlights reel.

Some trips are a single night. Some stretch into the two-weeks annual holiday. Some are carefully planned. Others happen because we stopped early and stayed.

What matters most isn’t distance, but how the journey felt: the weather, the rhythm, the small routines that turn a van into a temporary home.

Over time, this page will fill with routes, reflections, photos, and notes from the road — mostly across the UK and France, occasionally further afield.

How these trips are recorded

Not every trip becomes a full guide. It’s really about trying to live in the moment and be present. Not spending every evening tapping up my day’s experience.

Some observations turn into:

  • Short notes and observations
  • Photos with context
  • Things we’d do differently next time
  • Campsites worth remembering
  • Days that didn’t go to plan — and why that mattered

Trips are coming this year.

For now it will be a living index. As the year unfolds this page will have a bit more about!

Expect – reliability permitting:

  • Weekend escapes
  • Longer summer journeys
  • Familiar places revisited
  • New routes tried slowly

Some entries will be detailed. Others will stay intentionally light. This is all very new, so I will also be learning as I go along.

A camper doesn’t have to go far for good memories. Like the camper van, you just have to start!
